Raise Your Hand If You Need to Go to the Restroom Pin It Now!

Sigh.  The bathroom.  The bane of every teacher's existence.  Who's in the bathroom? How long have they been gone?  Is there already another girl in the restroom?  The bathroom remained unconquered for the first 10 years of my teaching career.  I guess I'm a slow learner.  The last three years have been a dream, though!  Thanks to this handy dandy chart that matches my Dots on Turquoise theme.  Of course.  I had it printed on 11x17 card stock at Office Max.  Hey, it's a $1.50 and makes me happy.  Then I made one to match the cutie pie owls I saw my sweet friend across the hall putting up.  So you have options.

Students may go to the restroom anytime they want.  There are only two no gos:
•When I'm teaching
•Partner work

That's it.  Other than that it's a restroom free for all.  I never have to listen to anyone asking me to go to the restroom again.  It's the little things.  Each box is a little larger than an inch.  I have a magnet for each student.  There is only room for one magnet in each box, so the rule is only one boy/girl in the restroom at a time.  Do the kids forget to move their magnet back? Occasionally.  The next kid needing to go to the restroom takes care of that though!  Both charts are available to download at the end of this post.

I went to work in my room for a little while yesterday and am heading back in today after taking my girls to get haircuts and squeezing in a vet visit for our old lady dog.  I guess it'll get done at some point!

Head on over and check out Cyndi over at Lacy's Letters when you get a chance.  She was my very first blog design guinea pig.  I think it turned out well!

  1. You read my mind! I was putting up my old "paw prints" numbers and drew a heavy sigh because they did not match my new decor! The one above is perfect! Thank you so much!
